Personal Statement
Dear ______,
I am thrilled to introduce myself as a sophomore student in Clinical Pharmacy from China Pharmaceutical University, and a student in Clinical Pharmacy (Sino-British Program) from The University of Manchester.
My passion for the field of Clinical Pharmacy has been a driving force in my academic journey. During my first undergraduate year at China Pharmaceutical University, I had the privilege of gaining comprehensive knowledge in preclinical medicine, chemistry and biology. I consistently ranked among the top students in subjects such as Chemistry and Biology. In my first academic year, my grades ranked 2th out of 59 classmates. Besides, I also have excellent English skills. I took the IELTS test and got a score of 6.5.
I have a strong background in computer science, having achieved a Second Prize in the National Olympiad in Informatics for Chinese Students. I am good at C++ program design, algorithm and data structure, and I believe that my computer skills will help me overcome difficulties in my academic career.
Furthermore, my leadership and teamwork abilities have been honed through various roles. I actively engaged in extracurricular programs, serving as academic group leader and student organization member, where I learned the importance of effective communication and teamwork. I led or participated in two scientific research training projects: Screening of antitumor activity of natural products and Research on the synthesis of non-natural α-nucleosides. These programs not only provided me with a solid foundation but also ignited my enthusiasm for contributing to the healthcare sector.
In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, I joined the Wuhan.Support team and the wuhan2020 open-source community, utilizing my computer science and biology skills to provide data analysis and medical advice. This experience underscored the significance of collaboration and social responsibility in addressing global challenges.
Currently, I am relying on my expertise and interest in biology to study the molecular biological mechanism of lymph node metastasis in head and neck squamous cell carcinoma. My ultimate goal is to contribute to advancements in pharmaceutical science and improve healthcare outcomes.
